Dr. Luciana Astiz has served as a program director at the U.S. National Science Foundation since 2015 managing a variety of programs in the division of Earth Sciences and representing the Geoscience Directorate for NEHRP since 2018.

As the Associate Director to the Array Network Facility at Scripps Institution of Oceanography supported data collection and analysis from the USArray stations that traversed the continental U.S from 2005-2015. Concurrently, she was Chief Editor of the Seismological Research Letters from 2007-2011 and lectured introductory Earth Science undergraduate courses at the University of California San Diego. In her role as seismic officer at the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) from 1999-2005, she helped with the implementation of the treaty by deploying monitoring seismic stations across the globe.
